Another summer season is upon us and Aloha has once again leapt into life with outdoor diners enjoying our many award-winning cafes, glorious sun and spectacular views of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman dusted with their summer coat of snow. Local whitebaiters have had an excellent season and now the helicopters used to fly them into remote fishing spots are instead being used to ferry sightseers up onto the ice for anything from 10 minute stopovers to 2 hour hikes. Likewise, the skydivers are in full swing giving those more adventurous amongst us a taste of tandem skydiving with wonderful views of the Tasman coastline, snowcapped Alps and beautiful lakes tucked into native New Zealand bush forests. And going by the smiling faces of crampon-clad visitors tumbling out of the old maroon buses of the Alpine Guides; walking the Glacier is still a treat! On a more tranquil note, the sunsets have been absolutely fantastic this year so far - ask us about our favorite viewing spot! We look forward to a great season and meeting new friends!
